Your training contract
The route to apply for a training contract at Anthony Collins Solicitors is to apply to attend a one-week assessment – our vacation scheme.
Our vacation scheme is the way in which we assess whether to offer you a training contract with us. It has two purposes: it provides you with the opportunity to understand the work that we do and to discover whether it is your passion too. It allows us to get to know you and whether you would be a good fit for a training contract with us. You will spend one week with us, splitting your time between two departments. To apply for the vacation scheme, you will need to click on the vacancy tab on our website.
We are committed to helping you develop and succeed as a trainee, and we provide the support and resources to help you achieve your potential. You’ll be allocated an appraiser at the start of your training contract, as well as a trainee manager for each seat. Your appraiser will offer support and guidance about which areas would complement your plans for the future, making sure you gain the necessary experience and skills. Our Trainee Development Programme will also provide you with bespoke training, giving you the opportunity to further enhance the knowledge and skills that we look for in our trainees and newly qualified solicitors.
Anthony Collins Solicitors provides funding towards LPC and SQE fees to those who are joining us as trainees and are currently or about to commence their studies.
Applications will be open from 25 November 2024 to 14 February 2025, to apply, please apply here.
When we asked our trainees why they chose us over other firms, they told us it was because of our excellent client care and because we “have a social conscience and are actually prepared to do something about it”. They also said they were given more hands-on experience and considerably more responsibility than their peers at other firms.
We asked what they considered to be the firm’s best features, and these are some of their responses:
It’s the chance to do high-level commercial work in one seat and publicly-funded private client work in another.
A good work/life balance.
The approachability of senior colleagues, including partners.
